White Bunk Beds

The reason I wanted to focus on white bunk beds is because I like the classical look that white furniture gives to a room. White, basically goes with everything. It is no coincident that property developers often paint their rooms white or cream before making a sale. The neutral tones allow perspective buyers to view the rooms as a blank canvas on which to put their mark. Buying and using white furniture is no different. These pieces add a touch of freshness to any room and you can be as wild and wacky with the color of the walls, curtains or other accessories without worrying about it clashing with the bed.

While your kids will, no doubt, be making all kinds of mess in their bedrooms won't it be good to know that you've kept the overall design simple and not compounded the chaos that children reek everywhere they go? The only caveat I would make when buying a light colored bunk bed is to check the quality of the paint job. Go for something that isn't going to scuff up to easily the moment your children have played around with it for a while.

White Wood Bunk Beds

Carrying on my theme of simple sophistication, I would like to suggest that you consider white wood bunk beds above any other kind. I have to admit that this is just personal preference and if you're not a massive fan of wooden furniture then I completely understand if you wish to ignore my advice. For me personally, wood will always be my first choice of material for furniture.

Yes, there are some very beautiful and skilled designers out there doing amazing things with plastics and different types of metal and alloys. Some of these pieces have passed the test of time and are now iconic designs, but by far the most trusted, used and, lets face it, timeless pieces of furniture are made from wood. When I look at the selection of metal bunk beds available I am just left cold. They all look like they should be in the back room of some office for the staff to have a quick lie down on when they get sleepy!

Boys will possibly plump for a metal bunk bed because they do have a more masculine feel, but if you can steer them towards wood then I think the family as a whole will be grateful.

White Twin Over Full Bunk Bed

A white twin over full bunk bed is definitely the way to go if you have kids who have a few years difference in age. Your youngest will be delighted to have the opportunity to take the top bunk as it will make them feel that there finally above their older sibling at least in one aspect of their life. And your oldest will hopefully feel like more of a grown up sleeping in a bigger bed.

Should the occasion arise that you have another family over to stay it might also be more convenient to put two adults in the full size bed and their child, if they have one in the upper bunk where they can keep and eye on him or her. Of course this arrangement will continue to work well after your children have out grown living in the same room together put you still want to keep this piece of bedroom furniture for future use.

You will need a slightly bigger room to accommodate the full size bed so bear that in mind before making your purchase.

Linon White Bunk Bed

The manufacturers Linon Home Decor Products have been around a long time and have an excellent reputation for producing decent quality home furnishings at affordable prices. They source their furniture from all over the world and have offices in Europe, Italy and eastern Europe, as well as Asia, Brazil and recently China. So they are a well established and trusted firm.

They produce a very wide range of products including a number of very popular bunk beds for children and adults alike. What I particularly like about their bunk beds is their functionality. While the styling might not be the most sophisticated, hence the affordable price, they have been smart in helping you get the most out of your bed over time. Nearly all their most popular models have the facility to split the bunk bed into two separate twin beds. This is an excellent idea which will allow your kids to have a bed each of their own when they grow out of the bunk bed idea and further more when they have moved into rooms of their own you can still use these two single beds for guests.

White Metal Bunk Bed

As you may have gathered wooden bunk beds would be my first choice but there are a few white metal bunk beds that meet the grade. Again because the color matches almost anything these metal beds don't look so out of place in a bedroom as, say, one in a gun metal grey. In my opinion that would just be to harsh and modern. Just my opinion folks.

I would just like to add that I would go for a metal bed that had quite thick tubing and plenty of curves and roundness to them. Again this will break up the hard lines that some metal products have. Make sure they have a nice easy flow to them and then they won't look as rigid as they are. If they have a white matt finish all the better, although this is rare and you will probably have more joy finding one with a gloss finish. Take a close look at the joint connectors as well, these to should be white and not stand out.
